Firebird, initiated by Madina Kazhimova and Anna Dolgushina, emerges in the bustling heart of Soho, London. The restaurant introduces a straightforward philosophy to crafting Mediterranean cuisine, utilizing farm-fresh produce in an authentic interpretation. Emphasizing ingredient freshness and quality, Firebird's menu revolves around open-fire cooking, accompanied by a diverse wine selection. Notably, the restaurant places particular emphasis on curating a comprehensive wine list featuring natural and biodynamic wines sourced from small farms worldwide.
Despite the small space and only one room, I encountered a number of challenges during interior photography:
- I had to shoot with mixed light, which required additional work in the retouching phase.
- Since the room is narrow and long, and also consists of two zones, I had to spend a lot more time on finding the right angles that would best reveal and show the space.
You may notice that some shots have digging on the tables and others don't. The thing is that interior photography was carried out for two customers (restaurant and architects) and all of them had their own wishes. For this purpose I had to photograph the interior for two days.
As a rule, 4 hours is enough for restaurant interior photography. But every object is unique and sometimes restaurant interior photography requires 6-8 hours. Therefore, it is very important to estimate the amount of work in advance.
